An oasis on the prairie, Fort Robinson State Park has a new centerpiece!

The new aquatic facility brings Fort Robinson’s Old West character to life with a 310-foot dual-track racing waterslide rising nearly 40 feet above a 6-foot-deep zero-entry pool, a stagecoach-themed slide for younger visitors, horseshoe-shaped bubblers, longhorn-inspired spray features, and a water-tower-style dump bucket.

The new bathhouse carries that same sense of place, reflecting the ranch-style architecture of Fort Robinson’s historic buildings, including the recently refurbished Mare Barn Complex. Restrooms, showers, lockers, and shade structures complete a facility designed for full days of family fun.

With roughly 350,000 visitors each year—including generations of families who return to Fort Robinson year after year—the facility needed to be durable, functional, and thoughtfully integrated into a National Historic Landmark.

Funded through the Land and Water Conservation Fund, with matching support from the Nebraska Game and Parks Capital Maintenance Fund, the Robert B. Daugherty Foundation, and an anonymous donor, this project represents what can happen when a great team works toward a shared vision.
